Happy 2018 everyone! Is it just me, or did 2017 FLY by?! It was a whirlwind of a year filled with lots of travel, tons of weddings (not just shooting them, I got to be a bridesmaid twice!), and lots of changes.
I know everyone's been hating on 2016, but I can't lie... this year was good to me! It didn't really hit me how much I had done until I went to make this blog post. I photographed a lot of amazing people in 2016 and had so much fun doing it!
Being a wedding and family photographer in Raleigh, I love being able to work with a couple through all different stages of their lives! I had so much fun with the DeLeon family at their Crowder Park session in Apex, NC.
There is something wonderful about going into a clients home, getting to know them, and capturing the simplicity of their love for one another. I think every family needs to invest in a lifestyle session since these photos represent exactly what you'll want to remember in your life. The simple moments, the laughter and giggles, the home that you've grown in.
I love lifestyle family sessions. Not only do we get great pictures, but they are always so much fun! I met Kathy and her beautiful children at their home one Sunday afternoon for the session. I learned a little about her family, we played some games, hung out, laughed a lot, and ended up capturing some amazing moments!
I think the most exciting part of my job is being able to watch a family grow. When I first met the Kinnebrew family, they were a little family of three! Now they are a family of five and I'm so happy I get to share this journey with them!
If you've seen my last two blots you'll know I photographed a few family sessions this fall at Historic Oak View Park in Raleigh. Here is the last of these sessions and I love this one just as much as the others!
After sending her their gallery, I received to most beautiful message from her thanking me for the photos and telling me how much they loved them. It's things like that which are the reason I do what I do.
