Some of my favorite proposal stories are the simple ones. The ones that take place in an unexpected moment, a moment where he just has to ask her right here, right now. Heather was making dinner and telling a Joey a story, like they do most evenings. The way Heather described it, Joey just stood up and asked her to be his wife. She was in shock and didn't know he was actually asking her until he said, "this is the part where you say yes or no." Of course she said yes, and started to cry! Heather and Joey are getting married at a new downtown Raleigh venue, Traine, in October and I'm so excited to be there to capture it for them!
It was a gorgeous afternoon when I met up with Heather, Joey, and Lillian to shoot their engagement/family session at Historic Oak View park and downtown Raleigh, NC. I am in love with this combination of locations for an engagement session. You get the park setting and the downtown setting, and you get to dress casual and then get a little fancy for the shoot! However, in this case Historic Oak View park meant much more. Heather and Joey are both chemists and met when they worked together down the road from the park. They bonded over their love for the same band, and started coming to lunch together here every day. That's pretty much where it all began!
We had so much fun at their session! Heather looked gorgeous with hair and makeup by Michelle Clark! These are some of my favorite photos I've ever taken! So full of light. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do! <3
