Roger Williams Botanical Garden Wedding | New England Wedding Photographer Lauryn Alisa Photography
Kelley and Aaron got married on a rainy day in May. Their Providence, RI wedding was probably one of my favorite weddings to date. I know, I say that about most weddings I shoot, but I guess that just means I work for the best couples out there!
The day started at Providence Biltmore Hotel where Kelley got ready with her mom, future mother-in-law, grandmother, and bridesmaids. Kelley is a classic beauty and everything from her hair and makeup to her dress and shoes were perfectly her. Aaron got ready at their apartment with his groomsmen, and chose a classic suit to match. Once everyone was dressed and ready, it was off to the church we went! The ceremony at Saint Sebastian Catholic Parish was beautiful.
After the ceremony we took bridal party and family photos in the garden at the church. The rain let up just long enough for us to get the photos done! The gorgeous stone church and the beautiful budding trees complimented the blush pink of the girls dresses and flowers perfectly. Once we were done, everyone loaded into the bus and we were off to the reception space for Kelley and Aaron’s photos!
The Roger Williams Botanical Garden is by far my favorite location I’ve shot at! The reception space is within a greenhouse, so even though the sky had opened up and it was down pouring by the time we got there, all of Kelley and Aaron’s photos feel like they are outside in a gorgeous tropical garden! Talk about a perfect rain plan! The reception space itself is stunning and these two picked perfect, simple, centerpieces and decor so as not to take away from the amazing greenhouse and gardens. The blush pinks and minty greens were classic and beautiful. Just like Kelley and Aaron.
There were also a few details that were so special for their wedding. Friends and family touched each part of their day in some way. The stunning invitations were custom designed by Kelley's cousin Rachel, who is a graphic design major at Shepherd University in West Virginia. Rachel painted the watercolor flower design for the invitations and also did the graphic design for the invitation and reply cards! The invitation calligraphy was done by Kelley’s Aunt and the reception calligraphy was done by Aaron’s Aunt. Their videographer was even one of Kelley’s best friends from college!
The food was delicious, the party was a blast, and all in all it was a perfect wedding day! Kelley and Aaron are two of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and it was clear that all of their friends and family felt the same. The speeches were great, the dance floor was packed all night long, and you just knew that this was a wedding people would go home and talk about for weeks!
Congrats again Kelley and Aaron! <3
