2017 Year In Review | Connecticut Wedding Photographer Lauryn Alisa Photography

Happy 2018 everyone!  Is it just me, or did 2017 FLY by?! It was a whirlwind of a year filled with lots of travel, tons of weddings (not just shooting them, I got to be a bridesmaid twice!), and lots of changes.  We have been living here in Connecticut for exactly a year and are so happy with our decision to move back home.  Don’t get me wrong, we miss North Carolina so much, but being able to see our family and friends all the time is better than anything a location could give us.

I also turned 30 this year!  I won’t lie, turning 30 was a little rough for me, but my husband made it all better by giving me not one but two big birthday celebrations.  He started by surprising me the weekend before my birthday with a gathering of all my best friends.  It was Halloween weekend and I love Halloween and all things scary.  So we celebrated by going to the Trail of Terror in Wallingford, CT and then we all dressed up and went to a bar for their costume party.  It was the perfect way to celebrate with my friends!  The weekend after that he took me away to New York City!  We spent three days there and had a blast exploring lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.  He had every second of the weekend planned and it was perfect!  We got to see parts of the city we had never really visited before, and pretty much spent the weekend eating and drinking lots of amazing things! We went into the City a few other times this year and I have to say, 2017 will definitely go down as the year I fell in love with NYC all over again.

As far as this little business of mine goes, being a wedding photographer kept 2017 full of lots of wonderful people and places!  I shot weddings and engagements in Connecticut, North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, Long Island, Boston, and my favorite place, New York City! My heart was so full with all of the couples who trusted me to capture this important part of their lives.  The photos below represent a year of Lauryn Alisa Photography.  Talk about perspective!  Seeing all these photos laid out in one blog post really proves just how amazing 2017 was!  2018 is going to be another remarkable year, but for now let’s look back on all the pretty that 2017 provided.
