If two people are meant to be together, life and love always have a strange way of working themselves out. Christina and Andrew met when they were introduced through mutual friends at a 90's theme party (LOVE IT!). They instantly felt a connection, however, the timing wasn't right as Andrew was in the Marines. They kept in touch and saw each other every now and then when he was in town. When he got out of the Marines last August, he was set to move back to Wyoming where his family lives. His plans quickly changed when he met up with Christina and that connection was still there. He decided to take a chance on love and stay in Raleigh to be with her and as she put it, they have been inseparable ever since!
When Andrew was ready to spend the rest of his life with Christina, he knew he wanted the proposal to be a big surprise. So to throw her off, he set up a diversion by telling her to buy a map, put it up on their wall, and put a pin in the top 5 places she wanted to visit in the world. She was so distracted by thinking he would propose on vacation somewhere, when really it was going to be much sooner than that! He took her to a beautiful garden, and when she least expected it, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She was in shock but of course said yes and afterward he whisked her away to a romantic weekend at a bed and breakfast filled with lots of delicious champagne (Christina's favorite). To add to the surprises, over dinner that night he told her the world map wasn't just for fun, but that they will pick one of the locations for their honeymoon and the others for each anniversary trip after that. <3
Christina and Andrew are true romantics and their love story is a reflection of that. They simply adore each other and their love for one another is obvious in the way each of them talks about the other one.
We had such a great time shooting their engagement session at Umstead Park in Raleigh. They are such a fun couple, and their energy is contagious! We explored the woods and took some amazing photographs. It was so great working with them and I know they are going to have a wonderful wedding and a happy future together! <3
