Relax and have fun. It seems like such a silly thing to have to tell yourself, but I find myself doing this all the time. Between trying to run a business, trying to be a good mother to Brayden, and trying to be a loving and supportive wife to my husband, there is always so much going on that I find "having fun" isn't the top item on my to-do list. I'm sure most (if not all) of you could say the same thing. But what's the point of being whoever it is we are if we're not going to have fun while doing it? The same goes for Brides and Grooms on their wedding day. If I could give only one piece of advice to newly engaged couples, I would tell them this one thing. Remember to have fun! Not just on your wedding day, but during your entire engagement. I know, it sounds so cliché, but there is a reason why as a bride-to-be you hear this over and over again. During the planning process, you will be stressed and overwhelmed, there is no doubt about that. Take time to enjoy it! Go bridesmaids dress shopping with your friends and before trying on the good ones, have everyone try on the ugliest dress they can find. Break up a day of vendor meetings by having an afternoon brunch with your parents and in-laws. Get away from it all and go out on a date with your future husband, making a rule to not talk about the wedding the whole night.
When your actual wedding day comes, the day you have spent months planning for, the most important thing you can do is remember to have fun. Drink champagne, eat all the delicious food, kiss your new husband or wife, and dance the night away. You put so much work into this one day. Take a second to yourself, look around at the beautiful event you put together for all your family and friends, and then get out there an enjoy every second of it!
I'll leave you with this fun bridal party photo. This crew knew how to have fun and their wedding was full of energy. I can't wait to share the rest of their photos with you next week! :)
