Resolutions

Resolutions.  We've all made them and we've probably all broken them at some point.  This year, instead of the typical "eat healthy and lose 20 pounds" type of resolutions, I decided to switch things up a bit.  As you all know from my previous blog post about baby steps, a lot has changed for me both personally and with my business starting in 2015.  I decided to take a step back and look at my life and who I am as a person, and came up with some life resolutions for 2015.  These are things I want to strive towards, things I need to keep in my head as I move forward through the year. 1. Be Accountable. I am going to hold myself accountable for my goals, for my to-do lists, for my life in general.  It's human nature to blame everything else when things aren't going as planned, but in the end we are each responsible for our own outcomes.  I plan to hold myself accountable not only for my failures but for my successes as well!

2. Be Present. In a world full of technology, this one can be tough sometimes.  I want to be present both in my own life and that of my husband and son.  I want to put down the phone and step away from the computer every once in a while and really live life with them.

3. Sparkle! We were all born to sparkle! I want to add more sparkle to my life, both figuratively and literally. I want to start each day with a smile on my face and a positive attitude.  I want to make an effort to feel good about myself!

4. Take More Photos. This one might sound silly since I am a photographer, but it's funny how when you do something for a living, you find yourself doing a lot less of it for fun.  I want to start taking more photos in between all of my clients sessions.  I want to take more photos of my family and our everyday adventures. I want to set up more photo shoots that are just for fun.  I want to be sure to remind myself why I do what I do and love it so much!

So those are the four resolutions I made for myself this year!  I wrote them up on my dry erase board next to my desk as a constant reminder.  I hope they will help inspire you to create your own life resolutions.  Are there any changes in your life that sparked you to make a set of resolutions for the new year?  Leave a comment, with some of your 2015 resolutions.  I'd love to hear them! xo
